The Ball is Rolling!!

Hello Friends!

Happy Monday!! I hope this post finds you all rested and rejuvenated and ready for the amazing week ahead! Just a few updates so you know I'm thinking of you! My visa applications will be in this week and the fundraising is going swimmingly. So far we have raised $875 which is fantastic for the campaign only being live for a week. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart for all who have donated, shared the link, sent me a prayer, it means more than you know! Please keep spreading the word, I am hoping for a big push in April for Autism Awareness Month. The campaign link is on the right side of the blog.

Below are some resources if you want to get involved in your own comminuty either meeting students or raising awareness.

Happy Giving.

Love,
~Nicole

Golden Joys

Here we go.

Hello world!
And welcome to the first step of my big adventure. Today is the official beginnng of my journey to Ghana for the summer. I have launched my indiegogo campaign- please see the link and donate whatever you can- and I have begun to reach out to any friends I have regarding the trip. For those of you who don't know. I have been volunteering with the Joshua School http://joshuaschool.org/ here in Denver to prepare for the student population in Ghana and I have been in contact with several women who have worked at the Autism Awareness and Care Center (refered to as the AACT) before so I know what to expect. So far, I need to bring lots of coloring supplies and a sheet.

Quick antecdote regarding the name of this blog, "I speak of Africa and golden joys" is a quote from Shakespeare's Henry IV Part II, the first full length Shakespeare play I ever saw staged and the words straight from my soul regarding my upcoming travels. More to come my friends, I can't wait to share this with you.
